The Heart of Our Mission

The Joshua Project was developed as a result of the realization that there were no facilities for young men who were single fathers or young men aging out of foster care. The idea behind this project is to educate and empower young men to take on the responsibility of being fathers.

The Joshua House provides a supportive home environment with 24/7 guidance, shared responsibilities and opportunities to build meaningful relationships. Residents will participate in household tasks, prepare meals together and gather weekly for family dinners with mentors, volunteers and members of the community.

After completing their time in the program, we will help each young man transition into employment and secure independent housing, equipped with the confidence and skills to move forward.

How We’re Helping

Through our 12-week program, young men will gain the skills, support and mentorship needed to build a strong foundation for independence. Participants will have the opportunity to live in the Joshua House, a renovated home where they will work alongside skilled local tradesmen to learn hands-on skills including construction, home repair and landscaping.

Beyond practical skills, residents will receive guidance in essential areas such as financial literacy, cooking, sewing and everyday life skills. Each young man will also be paired with a community mentor who will encourage personal growth and provide career guidance in a field of interest.
